A Tale of 3 Curio's, Part 2

I want to Thank Debi and Charly over at Adorned From Above for featuring my post ,
New Things on the Front Porch and Yard, August Update, from last week's Wednesday Adorned from Above Linky Party!!

 Thanks Debi and Charly!!

Please take some time to visit and link up to this great party!!

In my last post, I showed one of 3 curios that were given to me by my neighbor's sons for taking care of her home while they prepare to sell it since that had to put their Mom into a Nursing Home for Alzheimer's.
This curio replaced the stereo that used to sit in this corner of my Dining Room.
If you missed the post on this , please click HERE......
This is the 2nd of the 2 matching curios that I decided to use in my very Victorian looking Dining Room.....
This smaller curio was the perfect fit in the space between the Hutch and the Buffet......
This is what was here before I replaced it with the curio....
It has now found a home out in the Den......

This was what was on the wall before.....
The picture frame was moved to the wall over by the other "new" Curio.......
This is how the wall above the other "new" Curio looks now......
You may remember that I bought these brass fans at an Estate Sale in June in my Townhouse Development.....
I thought this was the perfect place for them......
This is what I have on display on top of the Curio......
A Home Interiors figurine holding a Fan........
Some of my Moss Rose Collection and a Victorian House Ornament under a Cloche......

Most of the items in this Curio are what I had on display on this shelf that was over on the wall where the stereo was previously....
These pieces pay homage to Joe's Maternal Grandmother from whom we inherited our Dining Room Furniture.

The dishes with the Colonial Figures on are the same as the set of dishes that she had in the Dining Room Hutch but they were taken by one of Joe's Uncles.....
So over the years, I have picked up similar pieces at Flea Markets and Yard Sales.....
Again, paying homage to Joe's Grandmother, Rose, who never learned to speak English and only spoke Polish until the day she passed away.......
 The Top Shelf......
The pitcher was also Rose's.......
I love the gold on this plate.....
The Middle Shelf.......
Another Plate with Gold......
And a Tea Cup and Saucer.....

The Bottom Shelf.....

Love this Plate.....

All bought at Yard Sales and Flea Markets....
I love the way these Curios look in the Dining Room......
I think they definitely added to the Victorian Look that I love!!

My Neighbor, Elly, was an INSPIRATION to me .....

She was the one who showed me the JOY of shopping at Yard Sales,Flea Markets and especially Thrift Stores......

She was like another Mother to Joe and I, another Grandmother to my Sons and a good friend and confidant to me, personally.

She was still decorating her home only a few years before Alzheimer's started to rob her of her precious memories....

These 2 Curios were only bought by her a few years ago and were in her bedroom where she had  proudly displayed Glittery costume jewelry and gloves and tiaras and purses in them.

Elly was a HUGE Fan of Marilyn Monroe and these Curios were used to pay Homage to Marilyn and to that wonderful Hollywood Era that she so loved......

The 3rd Curio that I will be sharing with you is a Corner Curio that she had in her Living Room , filled with Marilyn Monroe Collectibles.......

I will be sharing this 3rd Curio with you in a few weeks as it will be going up into my Guest Room and I have a lot of rearranging in that room to do before I share it with you......

My home is filled with items that I have "inherited" from not only Family but from Friends and Neighbors and I cherish these items because when I look at them, they remind me of the special people who gave them to me and they make me SMILE!!!!

I THANK Elly's sons for letting me have these Curios to remember our dear neighbor by.......

I hope you will come back to visit again when I share these Curios.......
  And a few others........
All lit up with the use of these Puck Lights from Lowe's.....
